The Cover Art Of Blue Note Records
Description:
Around January of 1956, Francis Wolff met Reid Miles, a commercial artist who was a devout classical music fan. They established a rapport. Beginning with Blue Note's ninth 12-inch album, Reid Miles became the designer for the label for the next eleven years. Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff described the mood and the intent of each album then Miles created wonderful graphic covers that were different from each other but retained that indefinable Blue Note look.
This is a superb book that gives you a brief history of the label and the people behind it, its not a discography but a collection of Blue Note album covers, this Issue of 'The Cover Art Of Blue Note' is a collection from the two previous volumes and is 7" x 7" in size.
